I've noted that many African men have these same views - and will call a black woman a slave, wench, etc., and a white woman a "prize". Robyn and would not look to Africa to find a prince. I'm sorry but it's sad to see a 45 year old never-been-married sista talking about the virtues of not settling.It's because these men have low self esteem themselves that they are this way. C.: I'm a 35 year old BW who decided to exercise my options and to marry outside the culture (African). We may never have the ole-school love our parents had. We gotta start taking risks and finding love in new places.There are a lot of “Daddy’s Girls” out there, but I am not one of them.
Now of course there are many single men who hold out of their Golden Pegasus with no kids, but these guys aren’t exactly successful when it comes to sealing the deal.It was a little over two and a half years ago, right before I was about to be married that I was asked the question, “Are you prepared for what you and your family will experience seeing as how you are marrying a black man?” Being a white girl raised in Salt Lake City, Utah I was offended.There comes a time and age when a single man settles on the fact that the woman he ends up with will have a ready-made family for him.
It’s the price we pay for showing up late to the ball; by the time single guy has defeated the work-force, made his bones, and decides on the whole nuclear family bit at 30 , his queen-to-be will have already danced the dance with another man.
